VIDEO:Deadly Cement Truck Crash Lives in Iworoko Ekiti

A horrific accident involving a Dangote cement truck claimed the lives of two people on Sunday evening in Iworoko Ekiti. The incident occurred just hours after Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji had traveled the same route.

According to eyewitness reports, the heavily loaded cement truck lost control and veered off the road, crashing into the median. The impact was severe, killing the truck driver instantly. Tragically, a young woman who was in close proximity to the scene also lost her life.

The community has called on the state government to urgently address the poor condition of the road and enforce stricter regulations on heavy-duty vehicles passing through residential areas. Local residents expressed concerns about the safety of the route, especially after the governor had traveled it just hours before the fatal accident.

“We are heartbroken by this tragedy. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims,” said Iworoko community leader, Mrs. Abiodun Ojo. “We hope the government will take immediate action to prevent such accidents from happening again in the future.”

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Bade Faponle, stated that a full investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident. He assured the community that necessary measures will be taken to improve road safety and regulate the movement of heavy-duty vehicles in the area.
