Federal Civil Service Commission Opens Accreditation for 2026 Directorate-Level Promotion Examination
The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has announced the commencement of accreditation for eligible officers participating in the 2026 Directorate-Level Promotion Examination, covering officers on Salary Grade Levels 14, 15 and 16 in the Federal Civil Service.
The Commission made this known in a circular dated August 12, 2026, signed by its Chairman, Prof. Tunji Olaopa, and referenced FC.6243/GOV/2026/VOL.I/22. The circular is a follow-up to an earlier directive issued on June 22, 2026, on the conduct of the 2026 Directorate-Level Promotion Examination.
According to the Commission, the online accreditation exercise will commence on Friday, August 14, 2026, and close on Friday, August 28, 2026. Eligible candidates are expected to complete the process through the Commission’s official promotion portal, promotion.fedcivilservice.gov.ng.
The FCSC explained that login details required to access the accreditation portal would be sent to candidates through their registered email addresses. It therefore advised eligible officers to monitor their email accounts and complete the accreditation process within the stipulated period.
The Commission warned that the accreditation portal would be closed on August 28 and that there would be no extension of the deadline. It further stated that candidates who fail to complete their accreditation within the allocated period should plan to re-present themselves for the exercise in 2027.
The circular also directed Permanent Secretaries, Accounting Officers and Chief Executive Officers of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure that all concerned staff are adequately informed about the accreditation exercise. The directive covers eligible officers serving at their headquarters, other duty posts and those serving abroad.
The FCSC urged all eligible officers to treat the accreditation exercise with urgency and ensure that they complete the process before the deadline to avoid being excluded from the 2026 Directorate-Level Promotion Examination.
The development marks another major step towards the conduct of the 2026 promotion examination for officers at the Directorate Level, as the Commission continues preparations for the assessment of eligible Federal Civil Service personnel.
