…Calls for Continued Support for Governor Oyebanji’s Administration
Each beneficiary, drawn from various tertiary institutions across the country, received ₦20,000 during a well-attended event held at the “Babylawyer 4 BAO/MCA Game Center” in Afao, Ikere-Ekiti. The initiative, tagged the “Joseph Ajayi Oke Annual Bursary Award,” is dedicated to the memory of the lawmaker’s late father, whom he described as a symbol of hard work and selfless dedication to his children’s education.
Hon. Oke, who chairs the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, emphasized that the selection process was based on merit and ensured fair representation across all wards in the constituency. He stated that the bursary scheme reflects his commitment to education and his resolve to uplift vulnerable groups in the society.
“These awards are a reflection of my continued efforts to engage with my constituents and respond to their needs,” he said. “I believe education remains the most powerful tool to drive personal and community development. I am determined to make this bursary an annual event, with plans to expand it in the coming years.”
The lawmaker also used the occasion to highlight the achievements of the 7th Ekiti State House of Assembly, which recently marked its second year. He pointed to progress in lawmaking, technological innovation, legislative oversight, and enhanced constituency outreach as evidence of the House’s people-oriented focus.
Hon. Oke lauded Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s administration, particularly its efforts in revitalizing the education sector, and called on constituents to support the continuity of the present government beyond 2026.
