Federal Polytechnic Ayede Gets New Substantive Rector

Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, has appointed a new substantive Rector to lead the institution as it enters another phase of academic and administrative development.

The Governing Council of the Polytechnic announced the appointment following approval by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

The appointment, which took effect on August 5, 2026, was contained in an official announcement issued by the Office of the Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council on Tuesday.

The new Rector, Dr. Isiaka Tunji Adelabu, is a Chartered Accountant and Chief Lecturer in the Department of Accountancy at Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State, where he has built considerable experience in both academic and administrative leadership.

Before his appointment, Dr. Adelabu served in several key positions at Federal Polytechnic Ede, including Head of Department, Dean of School and Deputy Rector (Administration).

His appointment brings to the leadership of Federal Polytechnic Ayede an administrator with experience spanning academic management, institutional administration and professional accountancy.

The Governing Council expressed confidence that his experience, academic contributions and administrative competence would contribute significantly to the continued growth and development of the relatively young institution.

With the appointment, Dr. Adelabu becomes the second substantive Rector of Federal Polytechnic Ayede.

The Polytechnic Management, staff and students have been called upon to extend their support and cooperation to the new Rector as he assumes responsibility for advancing the vision and mission of the institution.

The Governing Council, Management, staff and students also welcomed the new Rector to the Polytechnic community, expressing optimism that his leadership would help take the institution to greater heights.

The appointment marks a significant milestone in the development of Federal Polytechnic Ayede as the institution continues to strengthen its academic, administrative and institutional structures.
