The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially released the timetable for the screening of aspirants seeking the party’s ticket for the upcoming Ekiti State governorship election. The exercise, which will be supervised by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, September 23, and Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the Amor Hotel, Abuja.
In a letter addressed to one of the aspirants, Hon. Abimbola Olajumoke Olawunmi, and signed by the APC National Organising Secretary, H. E. Sulafman Muhammad Argungu, the party outlined the specific dates and times allotted to each aspirant. According to the schedule, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji is expected to appear before the screening panel on Tuesday, September 23, at 10:00 a.m., while Hon. Omolayo Oluremi will take his turn later that same day at 12:00 noon.
The second day of the exercise, Wednesday, September 24, will feature Engr. Ojo Olubunmi Kayode, slated for 10:00 a.m., followed by Hon. Abimbola Olajumoke Olawunmi, who is scheduled for 12:00 noon.
The party advised all aspirants to come along with their original documents earlier submitted during the Expression of Interest and Nomination process. These documents, the APC noted, will be carefully vetted by the screening committee to ensure compliance with party guidelines and constitutional requirements.
The exercise is a crucial step in the buildup to the Ekiti governorship primaries, as it will determine the eligibility of aspirants before they proceed to contest for the ticket of the ruling party. The APC has also reassured its members and stakeholders of a transparent process that will reflect the principles of fairness, internal democracy, and discipline.
Party loyalists and political observers are keenly watching the process, as the screening outcome will significantly shape the dynamics of the Ekiti 2026 governorship race.
