Prominent businessman and philanthropist, Bashorun Olugbenga Fajana, has congratulated Prince Adedayo Adeyeye on his appointment as the new chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) board.

Prince Adeyeye’s appointment was announced earlier this week by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who praised his extensive experience and expertise in the maritime and logistics sectors.

Bashorun Olugbenga Fajana noted that the new NPA chairman is a native of Ise Ekiti and has contested for public office at different times in the past.

He also highlighted Adeyeye’s role as the head of the Southwest Agenda (SWAGA) forum, which actively supported President Tinubu’s successful 2023 election campaign.

“Prince Adedayo Adeyeye’s appointment is a testament to his proven leadership abilities and the trust placed in him by President Tinubu,” said Bashorun Olugbenga Fajana.

“As a seasoned professional with deep roots in the maritime industry and a strong political network, I am confident that he will steer the NPA to new heights of efficiency and growth.”

Bashorun Olugbenga Fajana expressed optimism that Adeyeye’s stewardship will be instrumental in driving the implementation of crucial reforms, expanding port infrastructure, and enhancing Nigeria’s competitiveness in the global maritime landscape.

The business community has widely welcomed Prince Adeyeye’s appointment, citing his comprehensive understanding of the industry’s challenges and opportunities. Stakeholders believe his leadership will be crucial in facilitating trade, attracting investments, and positioning Nigeria as a major commercial hub in West Africa.

Otunba Olugbenga pledged his full support for the new NPA chairman and wished him success in his new role, which he described as pivotal to the country’s economic transformation agenda.
