The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has directed the immediate arrest and investigation of EFCC officials involved in the assault of a hotel employee in Lagos.
According to reports, the officials were part of a dawn operation aimed at apprehending criminals, but they allegedly exceeded their authority and forcibly entered the hotel, assaulting an employee in the process.
The EFCC Chairman has condemned the actions of the officials and ordered a thorough investigation into the incident. “Appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken against any officer found culpable,” said Wilson Oyewale, EFCC spokesperson.
