The art world mourns the loss of Zinno Orara, a brilliant fine artist, and friend. Born in 1964 in Benin, Edo, Orara graduated from the School of Art and Design, Auchi Polytechnic in 1988 and had a illustrious career spanning over three decades.
With over 13 solo exhibitions and 20 collaborations, his works have been showcased globally, including in South Africa, Germany, the UK, Sweden, Spain, and the US. His final major outing was a dialogue at the National Museum, Lagos, this year.
Young at Art Creative Workshop, where he had previously led a workshop on their 20th anniversary, paid tribute to him, saying, “Zinno Orara, thank you for adding colors to the lives of others even when you were going through your own silent pains!”
The art community remembers Orara as a talented and dedicated artist who left an indelible mark on the industry. His family and friends are in the thoughts and prayers of all, may his soul rest in peace and may his legacy continue to inspire future generations.
