Federal Polytechnic Ayede Partners with YEDIS for Entrepreneurship Development

Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Youth Enterprise Development and Innovation Society (YEDIS), headquartered in Osogbo, Osun State.

The MoU, which was signed on Tuesday, focuses on a partnership for entrepreneurship skills development for both the staff and students of the polytechnic. The Rector of the institution, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed, stated that this partnership will assist the polytechnic in making its graduates more employable.

“On behalf of our Governing Council, Management, staff and students of Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, I welcome YEDIS team to our campus,” said Abdul-Hameed. “The MoU underscores the commitment of both the institution and YEDIS in combating unemployment and over dependence on white collar jobs.”

According to Dr. Rafius Olaore, the Executive Director and Chief Lecturer at the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, who led the YEDIS team, the MoU is also in recognition of Federal Polytechnic Ayede’s commitment and achievements in entrepreneurship development through its Centre for Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (CSAED).

The Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council, Mr. Akin Odesola, expressed gratitude for the partnership, stating that the polytechnic is leading other six established institutions. He praised the Rector’s “undying passion, strength and zest for making diverse successes happen.”

The acting Director of the institution’s CSAED, Mr. Olúwaṣeun Owojori, said the MoU will offer opportunities for personalized entrepreneurship training that will equip the staff and students with skills and knowledge to create jobs and become employers of labor.

Other key officials present at the event included the Bursar, Mrs Rashdiat Titilola Oladepo; Polytechnic Librarian, Dr. Samuel Oke Ogunniyi; Chairman, Committee of Deans, Mr Azeez Olasunkanmi Ojo; and Deputy Registrar and Director, SERVICOM, Mr. G.K. Olatinwo.
