JAMB LIKELY TO RELEASE 2024 UTME RESULTS MONDAY

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced its plan to release the results of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, is scheduled to address a press conference in Abuja on Monday to provide details regarding the release of the results and related matters.

It is believed that the results to be released on Monday are primarily for the candidates who took the UTME in the initial days of the examination. The results of other candidates are expected to be released subsequently, once the board has completed its due diligence process.

JAMB had previously explained that it chose to delay the release of the results in order to thoroughly scrutinize them and ensure their credibility and integrity. The board aims to address any concerns or uncertainties regarding issues such as impersonation, mixed biometrics, and other forms of malpractice.

The 2024 UTME commenced on Friday, April 19, 2024, and is set to conclude on Monday, April 29, 2024. During this period, over 1.9 million candidates participated in the examination across more than 700 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers nationwide.

In the past, JAMB typically released the UTME results within a day or two after the examination. However, in recent years, the board realized that early result releases often encountered contentious issues. As a result, JAMB made the decision to carefully scrutinize the results before their release and withhold those found to be in violation of the examination regulations.
