The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the mop-up examination for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025. This mop-up exercise is aimed at candidates who missed the main UTME or were unable to complete the process due to technical or verification issues.
In a statement released on Sunday, JAMB revealed that a total of 96,838 candidates have been scheduled to participate in the mop-up exam. These candidates will take their exams across 183 designated centres nationwide. In addition, the board stated that some candidates have been placed on standby and may be accommodated if necessary.
JAMB explained that the mop-up examination will serve multiple purposes. It will accommodate 5,096 spill-over candidates, as well as those who were unable to undergo biometric verification during the main UTME. Furthermore, 91,742 candidates who were absent during the original examination or its rescheduled sessions have been granted a special opportunity to sit for the test.
All affected candidates have been directed to start printing their examination notification slips from Monday, June 23, 2025. These slips will contain vital information including the examination date, time, venue, and candidate-specific instructions. Candidates are strongly advised to check their slips carefully and arrive at their centres early to avoid any last-minute complications.
JAMB has urged all participants to comply with the board’s guidelines and bring all necessary documents, including a valid ID and their printed notification slip. The board also reiterated its commitment to ensuring a smooth and fair examination process for all candidates.
