Former President Olusegun Obasanjo paid a courtesy visit to Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, who warmly received him at the Government House in Benin City, the capital of Edo State. During the visit, Obasanjo emphasized the importance of sacrifice and selflessness among political leaders.
Expressing his appreciation for the governor’s hospitality, Obasanjo urged Nigerians not to lose hope in the country despite the challenging circumstances. He acknowledged that Nigeria is facing difficulties but believed that no situation is beyond redemption. He encouraged those in positions of power to make the best use of their opportunities to govern the country and serve the people.
Obasanjo emphasized the need for collective responsibility, stating that the focus should be on working together for the betterment of all. He emphasized the importance of sustainable development, highlighting that it is essential to consider the needs of future generations and not just the present.
Regarding Governor Obaseki’s achievements over the past seven and a half years, Obasanjo mentioned that the governor took the opportunity to update him on the progress and development in Edo State.
