The annual Ojoaduse Day celebration in Ise Ekiti was a vibrant affair, showcasing Alile performances, traditional dances, and heartfelt goodwill messages to His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) David Ayodele Adetunji Ajayi, Aweloye II, the Arinjale of Ise Ekiti. This event commemorates the founding of Ise Ekiti centuries ago and holds deep significance for its indigenes, serving as a moment to reflect on divine blessings and the community’s historical roots.
Hon. AVM Rufus Adeniyi Ojuawo (rtd), representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency 1 in the House of Representatives, called for unity and collaboration among the people of Ise Ekiti. “We must foster synergy, love, and unity among ourselves, irrespective of our professions. Our community is as vital as our daily sustenance; we need to protect, nurture, and strive for its development. Let’s unite and support Kabiyesi for the advancement of Ise Ekiti,” he urged.
Chief Jola Ogundare, the Chairman of Ojoaduse Day 2024 and Atiba of Ise Ekiti, highlighted the celebration’s significance for Omo Akinluaduse both locally and internationally. He stated, “Ojoaduse has become a premier celebration for us. It’s a time to honor our Kabiyesi, and we must rally around him both morally and financially to ensure a successful event. Let’s view Ojoaduse as a day of joy and an annual homage to our Kabiyesi. We have much to be grateful for in our community.”
Senator (Chief) Yemi Adaramodu, represented by his Senior Legislative Assistant, Mr. Ayo Adaramodu, encouraged Ise Ekiti’s residents to delve deeper into their rich cultural heritage. “While it’s important to celebrate our anniversary, showcasing our culture and values to the world is even more crucial. As your son and a titleholder in Ise Ekiti, I promise to uphold my responsibilities,” he said.
In his address, Oba Dr. Adetunji Ajayi expressed his gratitude towards his people and praised Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for his purposeful leadership and inclusive governance, which have fostered unity in Ekiti State. “Thank you for the ongoing infrastructure development; we pray for your success and assure you of Ise Ekiti’s support now and in the future. I encourage our youth to explore opportunities within our community, especially in agriculture and vocational fields instead of seeking low-wage jobs abroad. Our agricultural revolution is yielding remarkable results. Just one season of planting food crops can reveal incredible income potential. I urge you to take advantage of the Ekiti government’s investments in agriculture and the initiatives led by Hon. Ojuawo,” he emphasized, concluding with blessings for his people both at home and abroad.
Elder Kunle Falope, Chairman of the Ojoaduse Planning Committee, wrapped up the ceremony with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing deep appreciation to all distinguished guests, government officials, traditional leaders, and the wonderful people of Ise Ekiti for their overwhelming participation in the Ojoaduse Day 2024 celebration.
