
The Ondo State Civil Service Commission has announced the recruitment of qualified candidates for the positions of Forest and Produce Officers under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (Forestry and Produce Sub-sector) in Akure. The recruitment, which falls under Salary Grade Level 08, was made public through an official statement signed by the Administrative Secretary, Omotayo Akeju, and dated 28th June, 2025.
According to the announcement, interested candidates must possess relevant degree certificates from recognized universities. For the position of Forest Officer, applicants must hold a degree in any of the following disciplines: Forestry, Forest Resource Management, Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Plant Zoology, Botany/Biology, Forest Engineering, Forest Utilization, or Timber Technology/Wood Science. Meanwhile, applicants for the post of Produce Officer must possess a degree in Agricultural or Biological Sciences from a recognized institution.
In addition to academic qualifications, all candidates must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme or possess a valid exemption certificate. Applicants must not be older than 45 years and must be certified both physically and mentally fit for the job. Other required documents include a State of Origin Certificate duly signed and either a Birth Certificate or an Affidavit of Declaration of Age.
The Civil Service Commission further advised that only candidates who meet all the stated requirements should apply. Interested applicants are expected to obtain their application forms from the Appointment Registry at the Civil Service Commission office in Akure. The deadline for submission of completed application forms is Tuesday, 15th July, 2025.
This recruitment exercise is part of the state government’s efforts to strengthen its workforce in the agricultural and forestry sectors, aiming to boost sustainable development and productivity across the state.
