Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has strongly criticized comments made by former national team player Finidi George, who recently singled out Osimhen for his performance in a recent match.
“I don’t appreciate Finidi’s comments and I think he was unfair in his assessment,” Osimhen said in an interview. “As an experienced player himself, he should know that all players go through ups and downs and need support, not public criticism.”
Osimhen, who plays for Napoli in Italy’s Serie A, has been a key part of Nigeria’s national team in recent years.
His comments come after Finidi, who earned over 60 caps for the Super Eagles, called out Osimhen’s display in a recent match.
Representatives for Finidi George did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
