Food Security on the Rise in Ekiti State: Governor Oyebanji Empowers Young Farmers

In a major stride towards achieving food security, the Ekiti State government under Governor Biodun Oyebanji has launched an initiative to empower young farmers across the state.

Through a collaboration with agricultural investor YSJ, the state government has distributed farming inputs to a cohort of enthusiastic young farmers who recently completed a training program. These farmers will cultivate newly cleared lands in areas like Oke Ako, Igede, Emure, Iyemero, and Ikere.

Governor Oyebanji, known for his strong focus on agriculture, presided over the flag-off event. He expressed confidence that this initiative will boost agricultural productivity and create opportunities for the state’s youth.

“Our government is committed to empowering our young people and ensuring food security for Ekiti State,” said Governor Oyebanji. “This partnership with YSJ is an important step in that direction, and we are excited to see these young farmers put their skills to work on the land.”

To further support the farmers, the state government has also inaugurated a team of Agro Marshals. These marshals will be tasked with securing farmlands across Ekiti, allowing the farmers to work without fear of encroachment or theft.

With these concerted efforts, Ekiti State is positioning itself as a leader in agricultural development, creating a pathway towards self-sufficiency in food production. Governor Oyebanji’s administration is confident that these initiatives will dispel any doubts about the state’s progress and set it firmly on the road to prosperity.
