Osun 2026: Adeleke Thanks Tinubu After Re-election

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following his re-election in the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.

Adeleke said President Tinubu personally called to congratulate him after the election, describing the President’s actions as a demonstration of his commitment to sustaining democracy.

Speaking shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him winner, Adeleke said:

“I want to seize this opportunity to thank Mr President. Mr President has called me and he has congratulated me, thank you Mr President for making sure democracy lives on because you fought for it.”

Adeleke was declared winner after polling 511,067 votes, defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who secured 444,815 votes. He won 19 of the state’s 30 Local Government Areas, while Oyebamiji won 11.
