The Federal Ministry of Education has officially communicated the decision regarding the exit of Federal Polytechnics from the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS). This move follows the approval of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) and aligns with new guidelines set forth for the governance of these institutions.
In a letter addressed to the Director General of the Budget Office of the Federation, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, outlined that all requests related to Federal Polytechnics and allied institutions will now be channeled through the Federal Ministry of Education. These requests, including those for recruitment and replacement of staff, will be cleared by the Ministry before being sent to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning.
This change marks a significant shift in how Federal Polytechnics manage their personnel processes, emphasizing the need for a streamlined approach to staffing in line with the new administrative structure.
The Ministry has requested the Budget Office’s prompt attention to this matter, highlighting its importance for the effective governance of educational institutions across the country.
