The meeting took place at the residence of Hon. Taofeek Sakariyat Aolalubarika, behind the Owode Police Station in Ogbomoso. It was an initiative of Hon. Ezekiel Gbomojo, a prominent grassroots leader and key mobilizer within the SDP structure in the region.
Party stakeholders described the gathering as a unifying platform to demonstrate collective support for Alhaja Mulikat, whom they praised as a courageous, principled, and visionary leader. They emphasized that her leadership remains central to the party’s direction, particularly in the face of shifting political alliances within the state.
Alhaja Mulikat Adeola-Akande previously represented Ogbomoso North, South, and Oriire Federal Constituency and made history as the first female Majority Leader in the National Assembly. Her political journey has been marked by consistency, credibility, and service to the people, values party members say they are proud to rally behind.
Speakers at the meeting pledged continued loyalty to her leadership, regardless of any internal or external pressure to defect. According to them, her political decisions remain the compass for the party’s next steps in Ogbomoso and beyond.
“This meeting is more than symbolic,” one of the leaders said. “It is a declaration of intent and discipline that no matter the political wind, the SDP in Ogbomoso is firmly rooted under the guidance of Alhaja Mulikat.”
While acknowledging that individual members may occasionally consider cross-carpeting, stakeholders unanimously resolved that the party structure in the zone remains solid, united, and committed to her leadership.
