The Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) has commenced preparations for the 2026 promotion examination for procurement officers on Salary Grade Levels 08 to 13 in the Bureau’s pool.

The development was contained in a circular dated September 11, 2026, signed by the Director-General of the BPP, Dr. Adebowale A. Adedokun.

The Bureau directed all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) with procurement officers in its pool to submit the officers’ Performance Management System/Annual Performance Evaluation Report (PMS/APER) scores, eligibility lists and seniority lists.

According to the circular, the required information is to be submitted using Form A, which contains the list of eligible officers, and Form B, which provides records of all procurement officers.

The BPP stated that an officer will only be eligible to participate in the 2026 promotion exercise if the officer has spent a minimum of three years on their current Salary Grade Level.

The promotion exercise will cover two categories of officers: Procurement Officers and Executive Officers (Procurement).

The Bureau also instructed the MDAs to ensure that all submitted information is accurate, complete and duly verified. Particular attention is to be paid to officers’ dates of first appointment, confirmation dates, present appointment or last promotion, Salary Grade Level, PMS/APER scores and seniority positions.

The BPP said the information is required to facilitate the timely compilation and processing of the eligibility list for the promotion exercise.

It further directed that all returns be submitted in both soft and hard copies, duly endorsed and signed by the Director of Administration/Human Resource Management of the respective MDA.

The completed returns are expected to reach the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement on or before Friday, October 16, 2026.

The BPP urged all affected MDAs to treat the request as urgent, stressing that the information must be received within the stipulated deadline to allow adequate preparation for the promotion exercise.
