Ekiti PDP Denies APM Alliance Over Makinde’s 2027 Presidential Ambition

The Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed reports suggesting that it entered into a grassroots mobilisation alliance with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in support of the 2027 presidential ambition of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.

The party described the report as false, fictitious and unauthorised, stressing that the purported arrangement did not originate from the recognised leadership of the PDP in Ekiti State.

In a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, the Ekiti PDP Chairman, Lanre Omolase, said the party had no knowledge of, and did not authorise, any mobilisation pact with the APM regarding Makinde’s presidential bid.

Omolase urged party members, supporters and the general public to disregard the report, noting that official positions of the Ekiti PDP would only be communicated through recognised channels of the party.

The clarification comes amid growing political activities and alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with various political groups and individuals beginning to position themselves for the presidential contest.

The Ekiti PDP leadership maintained that any position concerning the party’s political direction would be made known through its authorised leadership and communication channels.
