The media team of former Ekiti North Senator, Duro Faseyi, has accused former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, of ruling the state for eight years with questionable academic qualifications. The team made the allegation in a statement issued on Sunday, calling into question Fayose’s integrity and eligibility for the high office he once held.
According to the statement, Fayose allegedly misrepresented his educational background and failed to provide credible academic records to support the qualifications he claimed while in office. The Faseyi media team challenged the former governor to publicly present authentic and verifiable academic documents if he truly possesses the certificates he claimed to have.
The team also criticized Fayose for what they described as his attempt to continue dominating the political space in Ekiti State, despite a track record they claimed was filled with inconsistencies and betrayal of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). They further accused him of being a destabilizing force within the party, recalling how he was previously linked to anti-party activities and the alleged sale of party assets without proper authorization.
“Fayose ruled this state for eight years, but till today, the authenticity of his academic qualifications remains in doubt. Let him bring out his original certificates for the public to see,” the statement read. “We are in a state that values education. Anyone who must lead must be transparent about their academic background.”
The statement comes amid renewed internal tensions within the Ekiti State chapter of the PDP. Fayose has been at the center of multiple controversies in recent years, including accusations of working against the party’s interests and alleged mismanagement of party properties. These incidents, the Faseyi team said, have further eroded trust in his leadership.
As of the time of filing this report, Ayodele Fayose has not issued any official response to the allegations. His silence, however, is unlikely to quell the growing demand for clarity from party members and the Ekiti public.
The development adds another layer to the ongoing struggle for the control of the PDP structure in Ekiti State, with calls for transparency and accountability at the heart of the political discourse.
