Oluwo of Iwo Invites VeryDarkMan to Osun Palace Over Anti-Corruption Advocacy
The Oluwo of Iwoland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I, has formally invited social media activist and President of the Ratel Movement, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), to visit his palace in Iwo, Osun State.
The invitation was conveyed in an official letter dated July 6, 2026, signed by the monarch and addressed to the activist at the Ratel Movement headquarters in Wuse 2, Abuja.

According to the letter, the Oluwo described himself as an admirer of VeryDarkMan’s advocacy for transparency and accountability, noting that both of them share a common interest in fighting corruption, albeit in different spheres.
The monarch stated that while he is working to address corruption within the traditional institution, VeryDarkMan has continued to campaign against corruption in the public sector through the Ratel Movement. He added that the activist’s efforts deserve royal recognition and guidance.
“His Majesty is ready to host you in his idol-free ancient palace,” the letter read, while expressing hope that both parties would agree on a convenient date for the visit.
Reacting to the invitation via his social media platforms, VeryDarkMan disclosed that he had earlier held a video call with the Oluwo, during which they discussed Nigeria’s progress for over two hours.
The activist also announced that he would visit Iwo, Osun State, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, describing it as his first-ever trip to Osun State.
“I have never been to Osun State, so it will be my first time visiting Osun. Ratels in Osun, see you soon. To the great people of Iwo… the Ratel is coming,” VDM wrote.
The planned visit is expected to attract significant attention from supporters of both the activist and the traditional ruler, given their influence in public discourse and governance-related issues.
