Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, will commence a two-week annual leave on Monday, August 24, 2026, according to a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media, Olayinka Oyebode, on Friday.

The leave, according to the statement, is part of the governor’s statutory annual leave entitlement and will run for two weeks, with Governor Oyebanji expected to resume official duties on Monday, September 7, 2026.

While on leave, Governor Oyebanji will continue to attend to crucial matters relating to the governance and administration of Ekiti State.

The statement said the governor would remain abreast of important developments in the state during the period, ensuring that key government activities and matters requiring his attention are not left unattended.

The forthcoming leave will be the second time Governor Oyebanji will proceed on annual leave since assuming office as the governor of Ekiti State on October 16, 2022.

Governor Oyebanji was sworn into office in October 2022 after winning the June 18, 2022 Ekiti State governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Since assuming office, his administration has continued to focus on governance and the implementation of programmes across various sectors of the state.

The governor’s two-week break is expected to end on Sunday, September 6, ahead of his scheduled return to office on Monday, September 7, 2026.

The statement announcing the leave was signed by Olayinka Oyebode, Special Adviser (Media) to the Governor, and dated August 21, 2026.
